Some useful tips how to visit African Lion Safari

We go to this nice place every year and we learn some rules and tips, which I am sure might be helpful for you, when you decide to go.

1. First of all, never, never, never go there on long weekend. You can easily stuck in traffic for an hour. That exactly what happen with us this year. From turn of Concession Rd 8 to Cooper Rd until cashiers we've spend about an hour in traffic. Literally.

2. Second tip, you can come on Elephants swimming time. You can find schedule here http://www.lionsafari.com/planyourtrip/attractions/elephantswim

3. Right after elephants swim you can visit bird and animal shows. I would recommend "Birds of Prey" flying demonstration and "Elephant Round-Up". Elephant show a must see. But be prepare for sitting on open space under the sun. On sunny, hot day it could be very hard.

4. After elephant show you can have a elephant ride.

5. Then you can get some lunch but I would recommend go directly to Safari itself. You can check the closing safari gates time before you go. Usually it is open until 5:30 p.m. but from September gates close at 4:00 p.m. So be aware of that. http://www.lionsafari.com/planyourtrip/hours

6. After visiting all wild animals we usually having BBQ. You can find plenty of special spaces with tables, for that kind of activity. We always carry portable Weber propane BBQ it is so great to have lunch or dinner.

7. After lunch or dinner if you will have time, you can go for another safari ride or you can go for cruise aboard the "African Queen" Boat and journey on the "Nature Boy" scenic railway.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes close to Toronto

We've got some unusual (at least for us) experience at African Lion Safari in Hamilton, Ontario this year.

Trans Canada Trip. From Toronto to Halifax by car. Part 1. Quebec city

Four nights. Four provinces. Four capitals. Four hotels. Four thousand kilometres. This is was our short trip from Toronto to Halifax. We have visited next provinces: Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia.

This is a map of our trip.

First stop was Quebec city. The capital of Quebec province and the very first Canada's city.

Lovely and beautiful city. One of the best in the country.  

The best place to eat some french cuisine.  

Hotel Acadia is giving you a feeling of old French hotel. It has valet parking for an extra 20 dollars, breakfast was included.

From Quebec city we went trough New Brunswick toward Prince Edward Island.

One more nice place near Toronto

Sometimes when you want to escape you're trying to go as far from your city as you can. But you should to know that

So I live in Richmond Hill and I love go to some places nice like Niagara-on-the-Lake or Stratford but sometimes you just don't have that much times to spend hours to reach those towns.

And then you should remember about closet beautiful places like Unionville village.

For example I can be there in 15 minutes and it is looks like a small amazing world among the usual York Region's landscape.

You can find there a few cozy restaurant, you can walk there i little and get some rest from your routine.

It is nice and it is so close. Enjoy.
