Winter fun on Barrie Winterfest this weekend

The City of Barrie proudly presents Winterfest 2016, one of the Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario!

Grab your mittens and celebrate winter with us on February 6th & 7th beginning at 10:00am to in Heritage Park in Downtown Barrie. This great family event includes Polar Bear Swim, Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides, Dogsled Rides, Lumberjack Show, Ice Maze and much more! Click here for a full schedule.

General Activities

Get out of the cold for awhile and warm up. Indoor activities include: February Blues Festival, Reel Stories Mini Film Festival, Tours and Family Fun at the MacLaren Art Centre, Skating at the Barrie Arenas and Storytime and Crafts at the Barrie Public Library.

Getting Around - Shuttle & Downtown Parking

Winterfest Park 'n Ride Shuttle
Saturday 9:30am to 5:00pm
Sunday 9:30am to 4:00pm

Park at the Bayfield Mall, easily accessed off of Highway 400, and take a warm and comfortable FREE ride to Barrie Winterfest! The shuttle will pick-up on Coulter Street behind the Bayfield Mall at Barrie Transit stop #203 and will drop-off at the Downtown Transit Terminal along Maple Avenue where you can cross the street to Heritage Park and enjoy all of the festivities. Road Closures

When making your way around downtown, road closures for the event will include:

Simcoe Street from Maple Avenue to Dunlop Street
7am February 6 to 6pm February 7
Fred Grant Street from Dunlop Street to Chase McEachern Way and Chase McEachern Way from Fred Grant Street to Dunlop Street
6am February 6 to 6pm February 7
